September Rehearsal for all VR singers

Join us as we prepare for two events in September. This rehearsal will focus on “I’m Gonna Walk It With You” and other songs (TBD) for the Interfaith March and the March To End Gun Violence. After this rehearsal, you will know the parts, what to wear, what to expect, and where to meet.

  • Wednesday, September 18 – March To End Gun Violence will be in the afternoon in downtown Columbus. We are working with the organizers to get more details about the event.
  • Sunday, September 22 – Interfaith March at Genoa Park (near COSI in downtown Columbus. This is also an afternoon event. We will have more details as the event nears.

Sheet music is available for all who need it at the rehearsal.

Their songbook is an invaluable resource for marches, demonstrations, gatherings, and other events. The songs in this book all have “Creative Commons” license, which means that the composers have agreed to let their songs be published and performed without the expectation on compensation. Consider supporting them with a donation, as we have done.

This is our regular “third Wednesday” rehearsal at First UU in Columbus. We sing songs to keep ourselves and our community whole. Our mission is to be a standing army of musicians, ready to bring the power of music to marches, meetings, protests, social events, or community gatherings that need us.

We meet the first Thursday of the month in Lewis Center to practice songs, plan, and listen to the voices of one another.

New members are always welcome. We have a folder full of music waiting for you! Join the movement for peaceful, creative music protest in Central Ohio.

At this rehearsal, we will regroup and reflect following the Women’s March. We will plan for future events, sing favorites from our repertoire and look at new music too.

Join us as we prepare to sing at the Women’s March in Columbus on Saturday, January 19.

Vocal Resistance’s mission if to spread peace, justice, and empathy through song. We believe that music has the power to change the world. Our regular rehearsals help us stay tuned up so we are ready wherever and whenever our services are needed.
